PERFORMANCE

I make performance that communicates and expresses feelings, creating playful supportive environments that invite people to connect with each other and experience a version of these feelings together. My work is deeply connected with the ‘live’ moment and often cannot take place without the audience who take a role in its live creation. Through creating stimulating multi-sensory performance environments I hope to encourage audiences to move away from trying to ‘understand’ and towards an open and receptive state to experience, forming multiple meanings and questions. My work is usually non-narrative and might begin with autobiography, an image or movement.

I enjoy engaging with ‘the taboo’ or things that people don’t often talk about approaching universal and sticky topics with humour, irreverence, and compassion. I have previously made work about femininity, depression, anxiety, grief, connection, mental health, nature and music's impact on mental health.

I work in a multidisciplinary way collaborating with a variety of creatives from within and outside of the theatre/ performance field. My major artistic collaborators have been composers, video, designers, Black Bark films, a women led film company interested in developing the female gaze, lighting designers, set designers, fashion designers, directors, dacers and sound designers. The work we make is collagic; begging, borrowing, and stealing from fine art (specifically installation work), film, performance art, dance, fashion, theatre and cabaret. I have performed a variety of theatre, bar, club and festival venues as well as non-theatre spaces including, Bristol Old Vic, Camden People’s Theatre, Salisbury International Festival, The Edinburgh Fringe, Glastonbury Festival & VAULT.

2017-2018, Lead Artist at The Wardrobe Theatre, Interval Artists Collective & Trinity Community Arts.

HYPERFEM

Hyper Fem explores the performance of femininity through drag. It is about feeling safe, sexy and free. In the aftermath of sexual assault this performance plays with how powerful and subversive femininity can be, challenging & subverting scripts written for the female body.

HELP!

Viki jumps into a bush. She isn’t coping. In her sequin-encrusted world, rats wear capes, butters race and you're invited to dance in the disco of dirty secrets.
HELP! is a show about asking for help when your world and identity have been shattered by mental illness. It demonstrates what it feels like to be unwell, in a true story about panic attacks in supermarkets and television static-depression. HELP! is a touching, humorous performance about falling apart and our collective responsibility to help pull eachother together again!

The Gran Show

This solo performance (which wishes it was a duet) is the ongoing product of Viki’s grief. Using a family photo album she recreates moments from her grans life, fitting herself into the images. It is about things that were never said, one sided conversations and failing substitutes. This surprising and amusing performance features dancing grapefruits, The Archers, fake tan, giant cigarettes, balloons and Phil Collins is a heartfelt piece for anyone who’s lost someone they love.
